In hindsight, phoning Dowse & Co was definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. When I first contacted them, I was facing eviction from my property and a claim for over £14,000 with no Solicitor, literally no time to prepare and no chance of winning. I required Legal Aid and finding a Solicitor to take on my case was extremely difficult under the circumstances. After many hours phoning, scanning documents, answering questions, filling out long forms etc to no avail, it was Dowse & Co who finally took me on and for that I was very grateful.My Solicitor was Parveen Akhtar. In Parveen's bio on the Dowse & Co website it says: 'She specialises in social housing law, in particular defending possession proceedings involving invalid notices...' I can confirm this is true as this is exactly what she did for me, starting with getting the proceedings delayed so we had enough time to submit a defence as I had already missed a deadline. After a long, complicated series of hearings though, thanks to Parveen and the Barrister she brought in for my case, Jared Norman from Field Court Chambers, I ended up winning with the claimant paying costs too. I couldn't have asked for more.
